How Can I Dispute a Negative Review?

At ServiceTasker, we know that receiving a negative review can be frustrating, especially when you’ve put real effort into delivering quality work. Our review system is designed to reflect genuine customer experiences while remaining fair, accurate, and transparent for both customers and businesses.

If you believe a review is unfair or incorrect, here’s how the dispute process works.

Step 1: Check the Review Guidelines

Before raising a dispute, we recommend reviewing ServiceTasker’s Review Guidelines. Reviews must meet certain standards and must not be:

  • False or misleading

  • Offensive, abusive, or defamatory

  • Irrelevant to the job or service provided

If you believe a review breaches these guidelines, you’re eligible to dispute it.

Step 2: Submit a Review Dispute

To lodge a dispute, contact the ServiceTasker Support Team and provide:

  • Details of the review you’re disputing

  • A clear explanation of why it breaches the guidelines

  • Any supporting evidence (messages, quotes, job details, photos, etc.)

Our team will carefully assess the review against our policies.

What Happens Next?

If the review does not breach our guidelines:
The review will remain visible. Maintaining transparency is essential to building trust on the platform, and genuine reviews—both positive and negative—form part of an authentic profile.
That said, a single negative review rarely harms your overall reputation. In many cases, a balanced mix of feedback can actually improve credibility with future customers.

If the review breaches our guidelines:
The review will be removed from your profile. The customer will be notified and may be given the opportunity to revise and resubmit their feedback in line with our policies.

Tips for Managing Negative Feedback

Even when a review can’t be removed, you still have options:

  • Respond professionally: A calm, respectful reply shows future customers that you take feedback seriously.

  • Address concerns constructively: Where appropriate, invite the customer to discuss the issue privately and work toward a resolution.

Handled well, negative reviews can demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.
