Find Local Timber Floor Sanding in Kinglake

The time depends on the size and state of the floor. Sanding, finishing, and drying a regular room can take one to two days.

Most surface stains and scratches can be removed with sanding. Deep scratches or strong stains might need more care or repairs.

The best way to sand a timber floor is to use an edge sander on corners and edges and a drum sander on the main regions. To remove outdated finishes, start with coarse-grit sandpaper and later use finer grits for a smooth finish. Sand should always be applied with the grain of the wood.

Your preference for durability and attractiveness will determine the finish. Wax, oil, and polyurethane ( water- or oil-based) are common choices. A specialist can assist you in weighing the advantages and disadvantages of each type.

Although sanding might create dust, professional services frequently employ dustless sanding tools to reduce cleanup. To stop dust from spreading, it's a good idea to cover furniture and close off adjacent rooms.

Walking on the floors after sanding should be avoided until dryness restoration. Usually, it takes between 24 and 48 hours for the finish to become sufficiently dry for minimal foot activity. It is recommended to wait until the finish has had a full 72 hours to cure before rearranging furniture.
