I am looking for a highly skilled carpenter or experienced timber framer to construct a high-end, "mansion-style" chicken coop based on a specific set of architectural plans from Third Coast Craftsman.
This is not a standard flat-pack assembly. This is a complex structural build involving fine carpentry, specific joinery, and a high level of finish.
Project Details:
Design: Custom timber-framed coop with an integrated roosting area, external nesting boxes and a specialized "droppings board" cleaning system.
Materials: We will be using H3/H4 treated pine for the framing and premium timber cladding (all materials to be discussed).
Complexity: High. Requires precise angled cuts, weather-sealing, and heavy-duty hardware installation (hinges, latches, and automatic door integration).
Dimensions: Roughly 1.8m x 2.4m footprint (details in plans).
What I am looking for:
Trade Background: Qualified carpenter or a very high-level hobbyist with a portfolio of timber framing, decks, or furniture.
Precision: Ability to work from digital plans and convert Imperial measurements/concepts to Australian standard timber sizes (e.g., 90x45mm).
Tools: Must have your own professional-grade tools (Miter saw, table saw, framing nailer, etc.).
Attention to Detail: The finish needs to be clean—this is a feature piece for the property.
Deliverables:
Frame construction and leveling.
Cladding and roofing installation.
Internal fit-out (nesting boxes and roosts) as per plans.
Predator-proofing (wire mesh and hardware installation).
