After receiving quotes, you’re in full control. You can compare responses, start a conversation with tradies, and review their profiles before choosing who to hire.
Only businesses that submit a quote can contact you. Your contact details are shared only with the tradies you engage with, so you can take your time and confidently choose the right professional for the job.
Understanding the quotes you receive
Quotes may vary depending on the type of service, job complexity, and how each business prices their work. A quote may include one or more of the following:
Cost estimate
A tradie may provide a fixed price for the job or an estimate based on their hourly rate and the time required. If pricing isn’t included, you can message the business directly to discuss costs in more detail.
Site inspection request
Some jobs require an on-site inspection before an accurate quote can be provided. In this case, the tradie may ask to arrange a suitable time to visit your property.

If a business needs clarification or additional details before quoting, they’ll let you know. We recommend replying through ServiceTasker’s messaging system to keep all communication in one place.
Additional details
Tradies may include extra information about their experience, availability, or how they plan to complete your job.
If anything in a quote is unclear, feel free to message the business directly through your ServiceTasker account. Many tradies will also reach out to you after submitting their quote to discuss the job further.
Choosing the right tradie
Price is important, but it’s not the only factor. Before hiring, we recommend checking each business’s ServiceTasker profile to review:
- Verified reviews from past customers
- Business credentials and licenses (where required)
- Experience and service history
Once you’ve found the right fit, simply confirm the booking and get the job done. Payment is made directly to the tradie, and ServiceTasker stays out of the transaction keeping the process simple and transparent.
